Appearance: A

Nothing on Earth is cuter than a seal-point Siamese cat. Period. From his great big bat ears to the tips of his teeny-weeny toes, Zanzibar is, as I often tell him, the cutest cat in the universe. His fur feels like silk and is perfectly colored to show up on both dark and light fabric.

Now I will address this directly - there are some individuals who *may* have claimed in the past that Zanzi is cross-eyed. However, both he and I know that they’re just saying the kind of mean, destructive things that people resort to when they’re horribly jealous of perfection.

Sociability: B

Zanzi loves people, but in small doses. In Meyers-Briggs terms, he’s usually an E, but is more of an I when under stress. Like many of us, he is intimidated by a crowd of strangers. He’s been known to bury himself in the underside of a pillowcase for the first few hours of a party and only slink downstairs when things quiet down. But who could fault him for being fashionably late?

Usefulness: C

On what was the happiest day of his young life (other than when a crazy cat lady shoved him in my arms in the Quincy Station T parking lot), he caught a mouse. I’ve never seen anyone take such pride in his work. Unfortunately, you’re only so useful as you have opportunity to be. And where I live now … no mice.

I’m pretty sure he can’t work an iPhone, so if I ever needed him to dial 911, I’d be out of luck.

But … I hold out hope. Every once in a while, I can convince him to eat a spider for me, though I can tell his heart’s not in it.

Huggability: A

Zanzi is *the* most huggable cat I’ve ever come across. He actually prefers to be carried (while purring loudly) and vociferously objects when I don’t pick him up. He sleeps wrapped around my head (my husband says he looks like one of the face-huggers from Aliens) or snuggled up with me like a teddy bear.

Cleo has the biggest prettiest eyes ever. She’s a long haired cat, and is black and white. She’s extremely photogenic, and even for a cat we found on the streets, she’s the prettiest cat I’ve ever seen.

Sociability: C

She is one of the most social and lovable cats that I know. She loves everyone, and will cuddle with just about anything. I’ve never met a person that she doesn’t like. However, she never really gets along with other cats, she likes to be the center of attention.

Usefulness: D

Well, my cat isn’t very useful. I almost think of her as a decoration that I take care of. She sleeps about 20 hours of the day, and really isn’t useful for much, but I still love her.

Huggability: B

My cat like I said, will cuddle with anyone. She always is up to greet me in the morning, and seems to love everyone. She can get a little moody sometimes and not want to be held, but she is a very lovable cat.

Overall Grade: C-
